West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini "is not worried about relegation: from the Premier League, even though his team are in the bottom three with just a point difference.
The 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal was the seventh defeat in nine matches. The Hammers traveled to Southampton who finished third on Saturday knowing defeat could put them in the relegation zone.
"In our last five matches at home, we have got one draw and conceded three goals in our last three matches. I am more worried about that," the Chilean coach was quoted as saying on the Sky Sports football news page Prediksi Skor Bola. Some at the club believe Pellegrini could lose his job if the Hammers were defeated at St. Mary's.
However, the club has repeatedly stressed that they want to honor contracts that are still in process, and the agreement signed by Pellgrini in May 2018 will not expire until 2021.
The Hammers have played in all but one season in the English top division since 2005. This is their eighth campaign since their last promotion and never finished under 13th place.
Following their controversial move to the 60,000-capacity Londonia Stadium in 2016, Hammers chairman David Sullivan has given Pegrini - who was appointed to replace David Moyes in 2018 - around 165 million euros to build a squad capable of competing in European qualifications.
